Goldleaf - Kids of Today EP

Goldleaf are a four piece "classic" rock band that are based in Glasgow who have been together for a year. All the band members are all under 18 and still at school, but don't let their young age fool you this a very professional product. Goldleaf have already received support and publicity from The Darkness and have played a sold out show at The Garage in Glasgow. The are currently recording their first full length CD which they hope to release in late 2013.

The EP opens up with title track Kids of Today and has the listener standing up and taking notice straight from the off with its catchy rift and equally catchy chorus. A few plays and its stuck in my head and I find myself singing the song to myself as I'm walking down the street.

Second track I Would Know has a more jangley sound, a bit of late punk feel to me. The "Hey, Hey" background to the chorus should be a big hit in the live setting.

Its back to the classic rock sound for the third track Make Me Change. This track opens slowly before kicking into the main rift. Some interesting lyrics on this one and i love the percussion sound as well.

Beg to Bleed pick up the pace again , the vocals on this track had suggestions of David Pinner from Soul Asylum to my ears.

The EP closes with Let it All Out A well constructed song, with a great lead break  and another catchy chorus, which to me is just begging to be used as sing back by the crowd in a live setting.

The Kids of Today EP is available on itunes, Amazon, Spotify etc. on 24 June 2013

Throughout the production is very high professional and the quality of the songs are well above the bands members age, well worth checking out, and if your the Glasgow area check out the live performances as well.
