Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock On A Mission Live In Madrid

Michael Schenker’s Temple Of Rock will release "On A Mission: Live In Madrid" – a new live recording and filmed concert released by inakustik on CD, DVD, Blu-ray and Digital on Friday 29th April, 2016.

Filmed and recorded at Madrid’s Joy Eslava Theatre ( very similar lay out to Shepherds Bush Empire on 4 levels) on November 19th as part of Michael Schenker’s Temple Of Rock’s 2015 European tour it features his line up of Francis Buchholz on bass(ex Scorpions),Herman Rarebell on drums(ex Scorpions),Doogie White on vocals(ex Rainbow) and Wayne Findlay on guitars and keyboards.

All play their part in a celebration of Michael's music and with the huge grins on every face on stage they are all having a ball with Doogie the perfect host and his vocal range a fantastic fit for all aspects of the music played.

With a setlist of 21 songs and a running time of around 2 hours this is for me a great representation of where Michael Schenker is in 2016.

A stable line up and even more importantly healthy and back to his best he looks fantastic and the joy on his face as he picks a lengthy melodic intro to Doctor Doctor looking into a sea of happy smiling faces and arms outstretched is worth the money of purchasing this alone.

The setlist is an ode to Michael Schenker's career with UFO,Scorpions and of course his solo releases too from the past and also the current line up too.

This release sees it brought right up to the current day with 4 songs from last year's Spirit On A Mission cd with first single Vigilante Man's heavy riff a crowd favourite as well as Communion and Live And Let Live and Saviour Machine.

Bridge The Gap has 3 songs including Where The Wild Wind Blows and Lord Of The Lost And Lonely and also dedicated to Ronnie Dio is Before The Devil Knows Your Dead from the first Temple Of Rock cd.

With 8 songs from the current line ups releases it showcases how the band are current and not living on their past glories only although of course that is joyously represented too.

His UFO career has 6 songs and all are greeted with mad enthusiasm by the joyous sell out crowd with Michael show off not only his riffing but his melodic soloing style with his trademark Flying V at that angle only he plays at and at times only inches from the crowds hands.

Attack Of The Mad Axeman still gets the hairs on the back of the neck standing to attention over 35 years since it's release and the mid song section with full band workout and Wayne playing that riff with Michael soloing over the top is just a joy to watch.

If you went to the shows this is a fantastic keep sake and for everyone else pick up a copy to see Michael Schenker back at the top of his game and for that we should all celebrate.
