In the past few weeks, the buzz around self-released, Birmingham blues rock bandBroken Witt Rebels has reached a deafening roar. So much so that the band have rushed out new single GUNS to capitalize on fan driven interest.
It all started when a live version of previous single LOW was uploaded to their Facebook page, within 4 days the video had amassed an impressive 130,000 views. This caught the attention of viral content geniuses Buzzfeed, who invited the band into their offices to play a live streamed gig for their 1.3m strong Facebook group, part of their Music Breaks Series. Just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any better, the GUNS video was elevated to the front page of YouTube. At the time of writing, the video has amassed over 100,000 views in less than one day.

Chosen by the fans, GUNS is now the second single to be taken from the band’s Georgia Pine EP  The EP is produced by Tom Gittins (Robert Plant) and was originally released on April 15th. First single LOW was a featured track of the week on Radio X, and play-listed on Planet Rock, who are now also supporting GUNS.
GUNS hooks listeners in with James Tranter’s expert guitar riff, before James Dudley’sthundering drums usher in Danny Core’s impassioned vocals and anthemic chorus. GUNS plays homage to their hometown of Birmingham with a melody and energy that tears through you, with the refrain. “Born and raised where Guns are made, they burn bright like a cigarette.”
BWR’s bluesy southern tinged swagger has drawn favourable comparisons with Kings of Leon, Alabama Shakes and The Black Keys, while their legendary live shows frequently result in stage invasions with fans rushing the stage in response to the band’s famous shoes off war cry!
Broken Witt Rebels have just made guitar bands exciting again.

Georgia Pine is the new 5-track EP from the British rock band that everyone is talking about – "Broken Witt Rebels". After delivering outstanding performances in 2015, the energetic, young 4-piece, who hail from Birmingham, are now looking to win over new fans with their infectious blend of rock and soulful blues.
Georgia Pine is authentic, rootsy, and real, and has serious hit potential.  Similarly to the new generation of contemporary and distinctive soulful roots rock bands like Alabama Shakes and Black KeysBroken Witt Rebels strike a chord.

The band pay homage to the sounds of old blues and Stax guitarists, but, at the same time, their unique approach to song-writing and recording gives the EP a fresh and modern authenticity that is entirely unique.
The EP was engineered and produced by Tom Gittins, who has worked on recent recordings by Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin). Gittins cites the Rebels’ lead singer, Danny Core, as an amazing vocal talent in the tradition of Steve Marriot and Joe Cocker – a distinctive heart-wrenching vocal style that’s steeped deep within the inner core of blues and soul.
