Bon Jovi top Royal Variety bill
Rock band Bon Jovi and soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa are to headline this
year's Royal Variety Performance.
Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts will also take to the stage,
along with James Blunt and Enrique Iglesias.
This year's show will take place at Liverpool's Empire
Theatre in December, in the presence of the Queen and the Duke of
Edinburgh. It will be hosted by Kate Thornton and Philip
Schofield, and will be screened on ITV1 later in the month
So let's break this down.. Bon Jovi will be on the same bill as an opera singer, that bloke from "Britain's Got Talent" that we all assumed was blind (be honest!), Julio's son and James Blunt (which bizarrely is rhyming slang for himself)...why? I can't see the majority of a traditional Royal Variety Performance audience being your average Bon Jovi fan... unless Jon goes Country. It's been building up for a while now..so brace yourself for Jon & Dame Kiri Wan Kenobi to duet on "Islands in the Stream" before Richie launches into D.I.V.O.R.C.E (again).
