Livewire Holmfirth 11th April 2008

Three great reasons to see this tribute band.

1. You can’t see the Bon Scott version of AC/DC (for obvious reasons)
2. The Brian Johnson version has not toured near here for over 7 years
3. And if they ever do tour again they won’t be playing small venues like this.

So what do you get for your £10? Well a show that lasts just over 2 hours 15 minutes covering both eras of AC/DC’s career. The set starts with the Bon Scott singer opening with It’s a Long Way to the Top, then taking in all the Scott classics (minus a couple, saved for the encore) plus a some less well known ones as well. “Bon” is excellent the looks, the mannerisms, voice a bit low in the mix sometimes, but my brain filled the gaps in. The rest of the band looks the part as well.

In to Jail Break and during the solo “Bon” is replaced with “Brian” and another excellent job the looks, the mannerisms again, voice strong in the mix this time. So now we get all the Brian classics, a lot from Back in Black, but others like Heatseaker, Flick of the Switch, Stiff Upper Lip went down just as well, for the sing along High Voltage is borrowed from the Bon era.

For the encores “Bon” is back to do those two missing from the first set, the first being Whole Lot of Rosie, then Let There Be Rock, which “Brian” joins in with. For the final song For Those about to Rock “Brian” takes over the singing. They even have cannons!!!!!

This lot come highly recommended, check out their web site for tour dates and photos. http://www.livewiredc.co.uk/
