Steve Harris's British Lion Oxford Academy 20-08-15

Due to holiday schedules I have been unable to update this gig review.

The 2 support acts were both excellent.Wild Lies and The Raven Age are up and coming young UK acts with bags of attitude and belief.Differing styles with The Raven Age's more metallic leanings going down very well with the packed crowd.

I didn't get to see British Lion on their first tour a couple of years back but on this showing all of the band played their part with Simon Dawson on drums forming a great partnership with the main man himself and vocalist Richard Taylor in fine voice.

Let's be honest we all went to see into the white's of Steve Harris's eyes as with Iron Maiden only playing enormodomes and he didn't disappoint.

Foot on the sound monitor and strafing the front row with his white bass with West Ham markings and claret and blue strap and mouthing every word it was fantastic to watch at such close detail.

After 40 years in the business he shows no sign in slowing up and when he implores you to sing along and give it your all as he is you do.

New songs Bible Black and Spitfire showed great promise and let's hope the band find time before Steve flies off with Maiden on The Book Of Souls world tour to get them down on disc and released.

After a superb 90 minute show we waited around for the band who kindly signed a set list and Steve signed my Number Of The Beast and Life After Death covers.

Sorted.
