Treat – The Road More Or Less Travelled (Live) cd review

On April 23, 2016, Treat played a highly anticipated set at the Frontiers Rock Festival, the annual concert event organized by the band’s label, Frontiers Records. Held close to Milano, Italy, this was the third annual edition of the festival and saw Treat playing hot on the heels of the release of their latest studio album, “Ghost Of Graceland”.

And on Friday the 24th of April via Frontiers Records Srl those unable to attend get  a cd/dvd or blu ray to relive the bands incendiary live performance.

When a band has had a 30 year career how do you fill a set list well pretty much like this.

A greatest hits set with new album Ghost Of Graceland represented with 6 being the title track,Better The Devil,No Stop,Do Your Own Stunts and Endangered.

All sounding wonderful in the live setting with Robert Ernlund perfect vocal delivery a high point with some excellent backing vocals supplied by Anders Wikstrom also on guitars, and Pontus Egberg on bass who forms a pounding back line with Jamie Borger on drums.
A guest appearance on keyboards to complete the line up is Jona Tee from H.E.A.T.

Seen as an AOR band at times in the live setting there is a mighty kick with Borger and Egberg unstoppable and Wikstrom's guitar sound heavy and crunchy and his solo's are fiery and always melodic.

2010's Coup De Grace one of my all time favourite albums has the stunning Papertiger and Skies Of Mongolia that just kill live with big guitars and even bigger choruses and as the band end their set with World Of Promises off Dreamhunter the whole place goes nuts.

Treat are a bucket list band as in 450 gigs I have never seen them but on August the 25th at the Hair Metal Heaven show in Hull I finally will and with The Road Less Travelled being the perfect road companion I can't wait.

Just buy it.
